Otomize is a medication used to treat ear infections of the external ear canal called otitis externa. It includes the ingredients dexamethasone, acetic acid, and neomycin sulfate. How do I use Otomize ear spray?
Otomize should be applied by spraying the solution directly in the ear. The usual dose is one dose into the affected three times daily unless specified by your doctor. The spray should be used 2 days after the condition clears.
If your condition doesn’t clear after 7 days, stop using the spray and consult your doctor.
Before applying the Otomize the bottle should be shaken well and the pump should be pressed down until a fine spray is released. Each spray administers one dose of the medication.
The nozzle tip should be placed gently into the ear and the pump should be pressed to administer one spray.
Can Otomize clear my earwax?
Otomize is used to treat otitis externa and shouldn’t be used to get rid of earwax. Other treatments are available to treat earwax such as Otex ear drops, Olive oil ear drops, Exterol ear drops, and Otex express ear drops
Can I use Otomize if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
Otomize should not be used in patients who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to get pregnant.
How long will it take Otomize to work?
This can vary from patient to patient but results can be seen after a few days. If no improvement after 7 days there are a variety of treatments that can be trialed and you should consult your doctor
How long should I use Otomize?
Otomize should be used for as long as it is prescribed by your doctor. If there are no improvements after 7 days then your doctor should be consulted to discuss an alternative.
Can I buy Otomize over the counter?
