How do I use Eumovate cream/ointment?
Eumovate cream/ointment should be applied thinly and evenly onto the affected area once or twice daily. As the condition improves Eumovate should be used less frequently as instructed by your doctor.
It should be applied to all affected areas. Eumovate should not be applied to irritated skin, cuts, or burns.
Eumovate should be applied to the skin and away from lips, mouth eyes or face unless instructed by a doctor.
Hands should be thoroughly washed before and after applying medication unless hands are being treated.
Can I use Eumovate alongside other steroid treatments?
It is fine to use other creams such as moisturiser/emollients but they should be applied 30 minutes after the steroid has been applied.
Can I use Eumovate on my child?
Eumovate should not be used in children under the age of one year old. It should be used as directed by your doctor but should not be used more than once or twice a week on your child.
How long will it take Eumovate to work?
This can vary from patient to patient but results can be seen after a few days. If no improvement after 2 weeks there are a variety of treatments that can be trialed and you should consult your doctor
How long should I use Eumovate?
A short course for 7 – 14 days is often sufficient treatment but your doctor will specify if they want treatment to continue for longer. If there are no improvements after 2 weeks then your doctor should be consulted to discuss an alternative.
