How do I use Dermovate cream/ointment?

Dermovate should be applied to the skin and away from lips, mouth eyes, or face unless instructed by a doctor.
Hands should be thoroughly washed before and after applying medication unless hands are being treated.
Can I use Dermovate alongside other steroid treatments?
It is fine to use other creams such as moisturiser/emollients but they should be applied 30 minutes after the steroid has been applied.

Dermovate should not be used in children under the age of one year old. It should be used as directed by your doctor but should not be used more than once or twice a week on your child.
How long will it take Dermovate to work?
This can vary from patient to patient but results can be seen after a few days. If no improvement after 2 weeks there are a variety of treatments that can be trialed and you should consult your doctor
How long should I use Dermovate?
A short course for 7 – 14 days is often sufficient treatment but your doctor will specify if they want treatment to continue for longer. If there are no improvements after 2 weeks then your doctor should be consulted to discuss an alternative.
