How do I use Betacap solution?
Betacap should be applied thinly and evenly onto the scalp twice daily. As the condition improves Betacap should be used less frequently as instructed by your doctor.
The general application instructions are:
1. Ensure your hair is clean and dry before applying the betacap solution.
2. Hold the bottle upside down over the affected areas and gently squeeze the bottle until the area is covered with a thin layer of betacap lotion.
3. Gently massage the solution into the affected areas of the scalp.
4. Allow the scalp solution to dry naturally. Do not use a hairdryer or towel.
5. Wash your hands thoroughly after use.
It should be applied to all affected areas. Betacap should not be applied to irritated skin, cuts, or burns.
Betcap solution is flammable so you should not apply it near any naked flames or lit objects and do not smoke while applying the solution.
Betacap should be applied to the scalp and away from lips, mouth eyes, or face.
Hands should be thoroughly washed before and after applying medication.
Can I use Betacap alongside other steroid treatments?
It is fine to use other creams such as moisturiser/emollients but they should be applied 30 minutes after the steroid has been applied.
Can I use Betacap on my child?
Betacap should not be used in children under the age of one year old. It should be used as directed by your doctor but should not be used more than once or twice a week on your child.
How long will it take Betacap to work?
This can vary from patient to patient but results can be seen after a few days. If no improvement after 2 weeks there are a variety of treatments that can be trialed and you should consult your doctor
How long should I use Betacap for?
A short course for 7 – 14 days is often sufficient treatment but your doctor will specify if they want treatment to continue for longer. If there are no improvements after 2 weeks then your doctor should be consulted to discuss an alternative.
