How do I use Beconase nasal spray?
Beconase should be applied by spraying the solution directly in the nose. The usual dose is one dose into the affected nostril or both twice daily (morning and night) unless specified by your doctor. The spray should be used regularly to get the maximum benefit
If your condition doesn’t clear after 14 days, stop using the spray and consult your doctor.
Before applying the Beconase the bottle should be shaken well and the pump should be pressed down until a fine spray is released. Each spray administers one dose of the medication.
The nozzle tip should be placed gently into the nose and the pump should be pressed to administer one spray.
If you experience seasonal allergies, it is recommended to begin treatment in the month leading up to the allergy season so the medicine is at its most effective when it’s required.
Can I use Beconase alongside other antihistamine treatments?
It is fine to use other antihistamine tablets but not another nasal spray in conjunction with Beconase.
Can I use Beconase if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
Beconase should not be used in patients who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to get pregnant.
How long will it take Beconase to work?
This can vary from patient to patient but results can be seen after 7 days. If no improvement after 7 – 14 days there are a variety of treatments that can be trialed and you should consult your doctor
How long should I use Beconase?
Beconase should be used for as long as it is prescribed by your doctor. If there are no improvements after 14 days then your doctor should be consulted to discuss an alternative such as Dymista, Avamsy
